Transition Facts

 

• Breakfast – Although our new facility has a cafeteria on every floor, we are only using the first floor cafeteria. The other cafeterias are still under construction. The new facility does not have cooking equipment, so we will be serving a healthy continental-style breakfast. Breakfast will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for all who come.

• Adult Bathroom Facilities – Bathroom facilities are located on each floor. Signs will be provided for direction.

• Sunday School – Sunday school classes will be available from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. A schedule of class locations will be forthcoming.

• Children’s Church – Children’s Church and the Nursery will be available for both services (7:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m.) All classrooms for the children are self-contained, meaning each has its own bathroom facility. Each room also has an area for snacks to be served.

• Parking – There are approximately 250 parking spaces. This is quadruple what we had at R Street. However, there will still be a need to car pool. Parking is also available on streets surrounding our new facility. The Sentinels will be available for security purposes. As Christians, let us obey all parking signs and be sensitive to our new neighbors.

• Security – To support our Sentinels, please be sure to remove any items from your car seats as to not invite unwelcome guests into your vehicles.

• Tuesday Night Worship – This service will replace our Saturday worship in Largo, Maryland. It will begin February 3, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. From 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., we will have our prayer and praise service, and from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., our Bible Study will be led by our own Dr. H. Beecher Hicks, Jr., Senior Servant.

• The last Saturday Largo Worship service will be held on January 24, 2009 at 6:00 p.m.

• Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals – Because these ceremonies are significant in the lives of our members, we have had several churches to volunteer their sanctuaries for our use for these occasions. Information about the specific locations will be communicated as soon as all arrangements have been agreed upon.

• Last Baptism on R Street – The last baptism at R Street will be held on January 25, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. Right Hand of Fellowship – the last Right Hand of Fellowship will be extended to new members on January 25, 2009 at the 11:00 a.m. service.

• Moments of History – Our last service will be recorded. A scroll is being created for each member who attends the last service to sign and document your role in the history of MBC. Each member’s picture will be taken and a copy of this historical moment will be available for sell at a future date.

• CDC Classes – CDC classes will start again in mid-February. Details will follow. Please note, we have three available locations for these and other classes (R Street Ministries, Miracle Plaza and the Metropolitan Day School).

• New Disciples Ministry – All classes for the New Disciples Ministry have already started and will continue to be held at Miracle Plaza in Largo. All classes are being held in Room 270 every Saturday. Please see Servant Tina Long for a complete schedule.

• New Disciples “Sunday School” Class – This class will begin on February 1 at our new location, from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
