Black History Month

Metropolitan! Mark your calendars and join us each Sunday in February as we celebrate Black History Month and show that Metropolitan Cares!
  • 1st Sunday, February 4th, will be “Supper” Bowl Sunday. In solidarity with former San Francisco 49er, Colin Kaepernick, we will forgo wearing NFL jerseys; instead we ask you to wear your Metropolitan Cares shirt (or any MBC shirt) and bring non-perishable food (canned and dry goods) items to support our “Supper Bowl” Sunday Food Drive! Our goal is to collect 1,540 items! (In honor of 154 years of service to our community.) Your donations will be distributed to area Food Banks. This event is Co-Sponsored by the Christian Discipleship Council and Street Ministry.
  • 2nd Sunday, February 11th, we are asking everyone to wear African attire to celebrate and commemorate our culture, heritage and beauty.
  • 3rd Sunday, February 18th, in support of our youth presentation we ask that everyone wear HBCU paraphernalia.
  • 4th Sunday, February 25th, in celebration of Black Excellence we will wear red, black and green.
Thank you in advance for your support!
