The H. Beecher Hicks, Jr. Reading Library will host The Honorable Robert L. Wilkins, United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, in a signing of his book: Long Road to Hard Truth: The 100-Year Mission to Create the National Museum of African American History and Culture. This event will take place on Sunday, September 30 after the 10 am Worship Service in Room C-43.
Judge Robert L. Wilkins played a key role in the establishment of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, serving as the Chairman of the Site and Building Committee of the Presidential Commission. His work led to the Congressional authorization of the museum and the selection of its location. Judge Wilkins’ book will be available for sale and will serve as the basis for his presentation.
